The Port of Kapellskar is used as a transit point for people visiting Stockholm and Uppland from Finland as opposed to a tourist destination in itself. There are several hotels in nearby Norrtälje for those who want to explore the fjords of this region.
Stockholm, however, is the main attraction and has a plethora of high quality hotels and more reasonably priced establishments.
The majority of Stockholm's best hotels are situated in the popular Norrmalm neighbourhood of the city and include: Berns Hotel, with its well-appointed rooms, quality leisure facilities, restaurants and bars; the glamorous Hotell Kung Carl; the aptly-named Grand Hotel, a 19th century structure near the Royal Palace; and the cheaper, yet popular Crystal Plaza Hotel.
